My Top 6 “DISARM DAILY CONFLICT” UK Book Reviews

Jun 1, 2020

With the release of my new book, “DISARM DAILY CONFLICT – Your Life Depends On It,” I thought I would post my Top 6 Amazon Reviews from the UK. I have an affection for the UK and its people. My father was born and grew up there till he moved to Canada in the 1960’s. And the reviews on my new book have come mostly from the UK so far. If I am honest, I am not comfortable telling the world I think my new book is valuable, so let’s see what the reviews say. First, let me give you a description of what this conflict resolution book is about, and who I wrote it for.

“I can handle myself! It will never happen to me!”

The truth is you don’t know when you will encounter a potentially dangerous conflict. From low-level conflicts to the most serious, few people are prepared to handle them.  When facing conflict, you must know what to do so you can get home to your loved ones. Knowing this, Chris Roberts teaches strategies and how to assess a situation to determine the best one to use.

In Disarm Daily Conflict, you will learn how to:

● Identify the types of conflict

● Communicate in a conflict

● Avoid common mistakes that escalate any conflict

● Verbally de-escalate the situation

● Answer questions that arise in a conflict

● Deal with road rage

● Deal with potential sexual assault

● Read your opponent’s cues to assess the situation

Who did I write this for? Everyone, but more specifically for the average person who has no idea how a seemingly simple conflict can end in tragedy. Most conflicts may appear trivial on the surface, with nothing more than a few loud words exchanged. Still, daily people die from these seemingly simple conflicts because they did not understand conflict and how quickly it can escalate. The strategies I present in this book are available to everyone if one follows them and has the desire to implement them.  So, what are the reviewers saying about my new book?

Here are the top 6 reviews that can be found on the Amazon UK page.

5.0 out of 5 stars Start with this book!

I’ve been in law enforcement for over 22 years.

I’ve seen assaults. Listened to victims explain how they’ve been attacked, and I’ve been on the receiving end on many occasions!

If people read Chris’ book, I know that they would undoubtedly reduce the threat, harm and risk to their personal safety.

His book is written with fundamental basics; basics that cannot be overlooked or underestimated.

If you read this book and think it’s obvious, that’s the beauty of it. Chris’ basic content isn’t Bruce Lee hype. On the contrary, following his advice means you won’t have to fight!

The book is peppered with links to videos explaining Chris’ teachings, and his no-nonsense writing is absorbing.

If you value your safety, if you don’t want to end up in a cell, if you don’t like hospital food, then this book is a small price to pay.

#2: S. J. Yates

5.0 out of 5 stars A helpful insight into understanding and preventing conflict and violence in our everyday lives

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 May 2020

This book provides an overview on everyday confrontation, conflict and violence and more importantly how you can read the signs and then prevent a bad situation getting much worse. The author used scenarios to explain the concepts and strategies and these were described really well with many suggestions I’d never thought of. I found the section on communication during conflict particularly useful and the importance of picking up on body language something I do not do enough of to ensure things aren’t taken out of context! Really useful book with techniques you could apply to your relationships and not just conflict from strangers.

#3:  Daz Norton

5.0 out of 5 stars A fascinating toolbox of strategic conflict Management concepts for potential violent situations.

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 May 2020

A fascinating tool box of conflict management concepts aimed at resolving conflict on the street.

There have been many books on the subject of Conflict Management aimed at violence in the workplace but this is the first that focuses on everyday conflict that can be faced outside that environment.

If you are interested in violence prevention then this is a must.

#4: Matthew Stait

5.0 out of 5 stars A fantastic resource on a difficult subject

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 30 May 2020

As a person who grew up with conflict and then made it a professional career, it is refreshing to read a very honest and knowledgeable book on the subject. This isn’t just another put down skim read, this is a fantastic resource on a difficult subject that can be referenced time and time again.

#5:  Stuart Rider

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read!!

Having been involved with the martial arts industry for 30+ years with 20+ years focusing on the self defence / personal safety aspect i have read numerous books on the subject.

This book by Chris undoubtedly stands heads and shoulders above most. The majority of books tend to focus on purely the physical aspects of self defence which in turn just becomes a martial arts book which really means the author is not really focused on the audience they are intending to reach.

Chris has done what he intended, this book is aimed at the general population and i would recommend anybody who has ever thought about there safety should read this. It will hopefully have you question your daily life, attitude and approach to how you interact with the rest of society.

An invaluable read and will be the the standard that all future books on conflict resolution will need to meet.

#6:  Ay Ak

5.0 out of 5 stars An important and much needed resource

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 May 2020

The book talks about confrontation, conflict and violence with details on what each one is. It’s an excellent resource on conflict resolution that we may encounter in our daily lives. If there’s one thing I’ll take away from this book, it’s this “words are just words!”

My goal in writing this book was quite simple. I wanted to offer conflict resolution strategies that could increase one’s chances to get home to who matters, plain and simple. Whether one decides to use them at the moment is the challenging question, but now they have the tools.
